About Me

Hi all! My name is Kaitlyn, and welcome to my blog! I am currently a 7th grade special education teacher at Arcola Intermediate School.  I'm in my 4th year of teaching 7th grade, 5th year of teaching overall, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else!  As if I'm not around kids enough from 7-3pm each day, I am also an assistant coach for the Methacton Girls Basketball team.  Go Lady Warriors!  In regards to both teaching and coaching, I feel privileged to do what I do each and every day.

Presently, I'm working on finishing up my Masters of Special Education at West Chester University.  I chose to complete my concentration courses in Literacy.  I enjoyed them so much that once I complete my Masters, I will be continuing at WCU to get my Reading Specialist degree.  Everything that I've learned so far has been put to good use in my classroom, and has benefited my students tremendously!

When I'm not teaching, coaching, or continuing my education, I spend my free time in a variety of ways.  The beach is my favorite place, so I spend as much time there as possible with family and friends.  I am also a huge fan of the Phillies (especially Chase Utley!) and try to go to as many games as possible.

While I don't get too much time to travel with my busy schedule, I try to visit somewhere new every year.  This past summer, my boyfriend and I ventured to Northern California, specifically San Francisco, Inverness, Napa Valley, and South Lake Tahoe.  This summer, we hope to get to someplace warmer!
